Luluk Hadiyanto

Career

Hadiyanto started getting serious in badminton when he was 11. Motivated by one of Indonesian badminton greats Christian Hadinata, he hopes one day he can grab the two most prestigious titles in the badminton world: the Olympics and the World Championship titles. He likes Candra Wijaya best as his sparring partner and regarded the Chinese top pair Fu Haifeng and Cai Yun as a hard-to-beat opponent.

He has been partnering with Alvent Yulianto, supporting the national team. His first time representing the country in an international tournament was in the 1997 Asian Junior Badminton Championship held in Philippine.
2004

2004 was the year of this pair, Hadiyanto/Yulianto. Altogether, they won four titles (Thailand Open, Korea Open, Singapore Open, Indonesia Open), two runner-ups (Swiss Open and Malaysia Open), and entered the semifinal of Japan Open and Denmark Open. By end of 2004 the pair has become the Indonesian and world's top pair, sitting at the BWF's hot ranked first seat.

2005

But in the following year, 2005, the pair went a downhill. In that year they never went to final of any individual tournaments they participated in. Being a semifinalist was the pair's best outcome. By end of that year, the pair's rank dropped to world's number 5, while their previous hot seat was taken by their compatriot Candra Wijaya/Sigit Budiarto.

2006 & 2007

2006 was even worse. Out of eight individual tournaments, they could only went to three semifinals and two quarter finals. As can be expected, the pair's fell to rank no. 8 end of that year. They were skidded by their junior Markis Kido/Hendra Setiawan who sat on the world's fifth position. Mid of 2007, the pair fell so far to rank number 21. Just in the last few months the pair made a come back and gaining back their Top 10 position in the world's rank.
